Building Codes

The local building code official is responsible for approving construction materials and methods. Evaluating building products is a time-consuming process requiring vast technical expertise. Therefore, building departments and designers will usually rely on evaluation services that evaluate products' conformance with the building code. The evaluation services evaluate construction products and provide an evaluation report that can be used by building regulators, contractors, architects, engineers, and anyone else with an interest in the building industry and construction. The evaluation services make these reports freely available to the public.

USA

In the USA, the evaluation report (NER-420) demonstrates All Tech Insulation compliance with the ICC, IRC, IBC, BOCA, SBCCI, UBC and the International One and Two Family Dwelling Code. This evaluation is an ICC Evaluation Service legacy report. ICC-ES is a nonprofit, public-benefit corporation that does technical evaluations of building products, components, methods, and materials. The evaluation process culminates with the issuance of reports on code compliance, which are made available on their website, www.icc-es.org.

Canada

In Canada, the CCMC evaluation (12070-R) demonstrates All Tech Insulation compliance with the National Building Code. This evaluation has been prepared by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC). CCMC offers a national evaluation service for all types of innovative construction materials, products, systems and services. Operating within the National Research Council's Institute for Research in Construction (IRC), CCMC ensures that its evaluations are based on the latest technical research and expertise. The purpose of these evaluations is to demonstrate compliance with the National Building Code. All current CCMC evaluations are posted on www.nrc.ca/irc/ccmc
